About Sam — How I Got Here

This story kicks off back in 2003.
It was time to roll up the sleeves.

I’d just left school.
Jumped straight into an apprenticeship.
Hard work. Harder blokes.

As my Nonno put it (with his usual poetic charm):
“You’ll walk in a boy… and come out a man.”
He wasn’t wrong.

I was 15.
Most of the crew? Blokes in their 50s.
So yeah — I had to grow up, and quick.

But even through all the hard yakka — this was my first big break.
My boss wasn’t just a tradie. He was a serious property investor.
He took the time. Taught me the ropes.
And looking back, that moment changed everything.

Round Two: Time for a Rethink

Fast forward a decade.
My back? Absolutely cooked.
Too much, too soon.

So… what now?

I’d always dreamed of working in finance.
Saw those bank CEOs on TV — multimillionaires in sharp suits.
Figured if they were buying Ferraris, maybe I could too.

With a gentle shove from my wife (read: loving kick up the backside)…
I jumped on the phones.

Cold-called brokers.
One after another.
Hoping someone would take a punt.

Plenty of no’s.
But then — an interview.

I went in swinging:
“I’ll work for free. I’ll grab your coffee. I’ll clean the office. Whatever it takes — just give me a shot.”

And just like that — second big break.

From Broker to Business Builder

After an amazing ride there, it was time to back myself.

I teamed up with my business partner —
And we had a serious crack.

Third break.
Enter: the Aureus Financial era.

This was the evolution.
From being a good broker,
To operating like a business owner.

We started.
We scaled.
We sold.

And we rode every high, low, win, and wobble in between.

The beginning was equal parts terrifying and exciting.
The middle? Messy and electric.
And the end — nostalgic and euphoric.

Now: The BROKER COACH Era

Which brings us to now.
Lucky break number four.

BROKER COACH isn’t just a title — it’s a mission.
Giving back to an industry that’s given me everything.

Today, I get to work with brokers I genuinely admire.
